I find myself looking forward to a fresh start in August. After a particularly cold July, we can only hope that the new month will bring us some much-needed sunshine.
This month I’m remembering:-
Our holiday to Cretan Malia Park was an unforgettable experience filled with relaxation, adventure, and authentic Greek hospitality. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a refreshing welcome drink, instantly making us feel at home. The resort itself was a paradise, surrounded by lush gardens, crystal-clear pools, and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, providing us with the perfect sanctuary after a day of exploration. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the food. The resort's restaurants offered a variety of culinary delights, from traditional Cretan dishes to international cuisine, all made with the freshest local ingredients. We also had the opportunity to participate in cooking classes and wine tastings, immersing ourselves in the rich flavours of the island. When we weren't indulging in the gastronomic delights, we took advantage of the resort's numerous activities and amenities. From lounging by the pool to trying our hand at water sports, there was never a dull moment. We also took the opportunity to explore the surrounding area, visiting historical sites, exploring charming villages, and soaking up the vibrant culture of Crete. Overall, our holiday to Cretan Malia Park was a true escape from reality, allowing us to unwind, recharge, and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Here is my latest blog post and my vlog all about our trip to Greece.

Visiting the Roald Dahl Museum was an enchanting experience, a journey into the imaginative world of one of the greatest storytellers of all time. Nestled in the quaint village of Great Missenden, England, the museum is a treasure trove of Dahl's life and works. It was fascinating to see handwritten drafts of his famous stories, personal photographs, and his cozy writing hut, meticulously preserved. The highlight of the day was the amazing outdoor play. Performed by a talented troupe of actors in the museum's beautiful garden, they brought Dahl's captivating characters to life under the open sky. The play was infused with humor, mystery, and the unique charm of Dahl's storytelling, making the entire experience truly unforgettable. From the museum exhibits to the captivating outdoor play, the visit to the Roald Dahl Museum was a delightful immersion into the creative genius of Roald Dahl.
This month I’m enjoying:-
Embrace the Bounty of Seasonal Food:
August is a time of plenty for food enthusiasts as farmers' markets brim with an abundance of fresh produce. Juicy watermelons, sweet peaches, and succulent berries grace our tables, providing a delightful reprieve from the heat. These fruits not only offer a burst of flavour but are also packed with essential vitamins and antioxidants, keeping us energised and revitalised throughout the day.
In the vegetable aisle, vibrant courgette, tender corn on the cob, and plump tomatoes are at their peak. August is the perfect opportunity to experiment with salads, grilling, and refreshing gazpachos, making the most of these seasonal delights, I can't wait.
Enchanting Flowers in Full Bloom:
The gardens come alive in August, adorned with an array of blooming flowers. The queen of the month is the Gladiolus, a tall and elegant flower symbolising strength and sincerity. Alongside the Gladiolus, dahlias, sunflowers, and lilies also add their brilliance to the landscape, bringing joy and colour after a gloomy July. These flowers not only elevate the ambiance of our surroundings but also make for stunning additions to bouquets and floral arrangements, spreading smiles to those we care about.
This month I’m recommending:-
Refresh Your Makeup Routine:
As the weather shifts, so should our makeup routine. August calls for a light and fresh approach, letting our natural beauty shine through. Opt for a lightweight, SPF-infused foundation to protect your skin from the sun while achieving a radiant glow. Peachy blushes and lip tints add a touch of warmth and complement the season's produce-inspired colours.
Eyes can pop with pastel shades like soft pinks, lilacs, and mints, subtly enhancing your gaze. Don't forget to coat your lashes with a waterproof mascara to withstand the occasional summer shower and maintain a picture-perfect look.
These are some of my favourite makeup products this month:-
Talking of SPF - I hight recommend Tancream, I used it all the time in Greece. Their innovative and high-quality products have completely transformed my approach to skincare and sun protection. I'm in love with Tancream's unique combination of sunblock and self-tanner, which not only shields my skin from harmful UV rays but also leaves me with a natural and sun-kissed glow. The luxurious texture and non-greasy formula make it a pleasure to apply daily. It's become an essential part of my beauty routine, and I couldn't be happier with the radiant results. Thanks to Tancream, I can confidently embrace the sun while keeping my skin healthy and radiant all year round.
Another new SPF to me is Heliocare - It has been an absolute game-changer for my skincare routine! Their range of advanced sun protection products has exceeded my expectations and provided me with the ultimate defense against harmful UV rays. I've noticed a significant improvement in my skin's texture and appearance since incorporating Heliocare into my daily regimen. The lightweight and non-greasy formulas make it a pleasure to apply, and I love that it doesn't leave any white cast. I recommend Heliocare to all my friends and family because of its efficacy and reliable protection, allowing me to confidently enjoy outdoor activities without worrying about sun damage. Eye cream I have been using this eye cream from Charlotte Tilbury for over a month now and I really recommend it
. The CRYO-RECOVERY EYE SERUM from Charlotte Tilbury is a game-changer for tired, puffy eyes. Infused with a potent blend of peptides and antioxidants, this serum helps to reduce the appearance of dark circles and fine lines while providing a refreshing cooling sensation. With regular use, it leaves the delicate eye area looking revived, plumped, and rejuvenated.
Fashion to Embrace the August Sun:
With the sun making a comeback, our wardrobes also get a chance to shine. Lightweight fabrics such as cotton, linen, and chambray become our best friends, allowing us to stay cool and comfortable during the warmer days. Flowy sundresses, rompers, and maxi skirts make for effortless and chic outfit choices.
Incorporate bright and cheerful colours like lemon yellow, turquoise, and coral into your wardrobe to match the season's mood. Accessorise with straw hats, rattan bags, and oversized sunglasses for a touch of summer sophistication.
