I always like to be completely honest with you when I review products, and because of that I need to start this post by saying that this is very much a first impressions review.
The lovely team at Feel Reformed kindly sent me their Black Coffee blend to try and, although I’ve been using it for a little while now, I haven’t finished the full pack yet. As always, I will come back and give you a full and balanced review once I’ve used it for longer and can properly judge whether it’s made a noticeable difference.
Because let’s be honest — there are a lot of wellness products out there promising the earth.
Some are fantastic.
Some are less so.
And I never want to recommend something without genuinely testing it first.
My Relationship With Breakfast
I have always been a bit strange when it comes to breakfast.
I know people who wake up starving and immediately need porridge, toast, eggs, cereal and half the contents of the fridge.
That has never been me.
I tend to wake up, make a black coffee and get on with my day.
In fact, most mornings I don’t really feel hungry until around midday when breakfast, brunch and lunch all seem to merge into one meal.
I suppose you could say I naturally fall into a form of intermittent fasting, although I’ve never really followed a strict plan.
Coffee, however, is non-negotiable.
The Instagram Algorithm Knows Everything
Like most people these days, the minute I start searching for something online, Instagram decides I need to see it approximately 700 times a day.
And that’s exactly how I discovered Reformed.
One advert.
Then another.
Then another.
Then another.
Until eventually curiosity got the better of me.
Then a few weeks later the company reached out and asked if I’d like to try it for myself.
So What Actually Is Reformed?
Reformed takes premium Arabica coffee and combines it with collagen, functional mushrooms, vitamins, minerals and whole-food nutrients to create a more nutrient-dense morning drink. The company also offers matcha, mocha, decaf and creatine-based alternatives.
The idea behind it is simple.
Most of us already drink coffee.
So rather than adding yet another supplement, powder or tablet into our already busy routines, why not upgrade something we’re already consuming every day?
Their blends contain ingredients including collagen peptides, functional mushrooms and nutrients derived from whole foods and vegetables.
It’s essentially trying to combine your morning coffee with a wellness supplement.
Why Not Just Drink Normal Coffee?
Now before all the coffee purists start sharpening their pitchforks…
I still absolutely love normal coffee.
I always will.
But drinking black coffee on an empty stomach isn’t necessarily ideal for everyone.
Coffee can increase stomach acid production and, for some people, may contribute to jitters, energy crashes or feelings of anxiety when consumed first thing without food.
Of course everyone’s body is different.
Some people tolerate it perfectly.
Others don’t.
What Reformed is trying to do is provide additional nutrients alongside your caffeine intake rather than simply relying on coffee alone.
Whether that translates into long-term benefits remains to be seen — which is exactly why I’m continuing my trial.
What’s Actually In It?
One of the things that interested me most was the ingredient list.
Depending on which blend you choose, Reformed products may contain:
Collagen peptides
Functional mushrooms such as Lion’s Mane and Chaga
Whole-food nutrients
Vitamins and minerals
Adaptogens
Premium coffee or ceremonial-grade matcha
The company says these ingredients are designed to support focus, energy, wellness and overall health.
As somebody who is becoming increasingly interested in preventative health and wellness as I get older, I find this approach fascinating.
What Does It Taste Like?
This is probably the question you’re all asking.
The honest answer?
It tastes like black coffee.
With a slight twist.
There is definitely a subtle flavour underneath that makes it taste different from a standard cup of coffee, but if you’re already someone who drinks black coffee regularly, I think you’ll find it perfectly drinkable.
I’ve actually been drinking mine iced recently because the weather has been so warm.
Two scoops.
Cold water.
Lots of ice.
Done.
It’s become part of my morning routine.

The Matcha Situation
Now my daughter is desperately trying to convert me into a matcha person.
Apparently everybody drinks matcha.
Apparently it’s life-changing.
Apparently I’m behind the times.
Unfortunately, I’m still struggling slightly with the taste.
I know people absolutely swear by it and perhaps one day I’ll join the matcha club, but for now I’m very much still a coffee girl.
That said, Reformed do a matcha range which looks really interesting, and I’m particularly tempted by their latte-style options as a gateway into the world of matcha.
How Am I Feeling?
This is where I need to be careful.
Because it’s very easy to convince yourself something is working after a few days.
Equally, it’s very easy to dismiss something before you’ve given it enough time.
So far?
I feel good.
Perhaps slightly more energised.
Perhaps slightly more focused.
But I genuinely don’t think I’ve used it long enough to make any dramatic claims.
Which is exactly why this isn’t a glowing “you must buy this immediately” review.
It’s simply an honest update on something I’m currently testing.

My Promise To You
One thing I always try to do with Simply Caroline is remain transparent.
If I love something, I’ll tell you.
If I don’t, I’ll tell you that too.
So this is very much part one.
I’ll continue using Reformed over the coming weeks and I’ll report back once I’ve finished the pack and can give you a proper verdict.
For now, though, I’m enjoying it.
It’s easy.
It’s convenient.
It fits naturally into my routine.
And I’m intrigued enough to keep going.
Which is probably the best compliment I can give any wellness product after week one.
